WUMS App version 2.9.1 is out
Since the beginning of July the WUMS App has been available in version 2.9.1 in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The biggest change concerns photos: they are now transferred in the background. On top of that there is a built-in camera with a frame for fuel cards and inspection stickers, plus a number of fixes.
Photos upload in the background
The upload keeps running while you carry on working in the app – and also when you send the app to the background or close it. So you no longer have to wait until all images have been transferred.
- A banner on the dashboard shows the progress as finished/total, for example “2/5”.
- If the device interrupts the upload, it continues the next time you open the app – the message now reads “Upload continues” instead of an error.
- Photos are no longer uploaded twice.
- Signatures are no longer lost, and small close-ups – of the inspection sticker, for instance – can now be taken reliably.
Camera with a frame for fuel card and inspection sticker
The fuel card and the §57a inspection sticker are no longer photographed with the system camera but with a camera built into the app. A red frame shows the right crop – credit card format for the fuel card, square for the sticker. That way the shot is right straight away and stays easy to read. Photos are also no longer stored rotated by 90°, and the live preview is upright again on the affected devices.
A note about new versions
On start-up the app checks whether a newer version is available. If your version is out of date you will see a note; for a mandatory update the app takes you straight to the store. If there is no connection at the moment, the app still starts as usual.
Further improvements
- The name of the signed-in contact – company or first and last name – is now shown at the top of the dashboard.
- Permissions now also work for contacts who belong to several contact groups: this affected creating the repair order, assigning it to yourself and editing the supplier.
- The filter in the ticket list no longer runs past the edge of the screen but scrolls.
- Crashes after switching between apps have been fixed – they could cause tickets that had already been created to be submitted twice.
- Turkish has been added as an app language.
- The app shows clearer error messages when uploading photos, the licence plate is taken correctly from the database, and the address for resetting your password has been updated.
What was added before that
Quite a bit has happened since the last post here on the blog – the most important points at a glance:
- A QR code reader for the ATG codes on the vehicles, which replaced the licence plate scan.
- A progress bar while images are being uploaded.
- Offline file synchronisation: photos taken without reception are transferred as soon as the device is back online.
- The app is available in Slovenian, Croatian and English, along with the “Frächter” (haulier) contact group with its own permissions.
Please install the latest version from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
